Looking at this portfolio, It seems like you are looking at the storyline of a marvel character hero who finally has fought Thanos and defeated Kang in the multiverse.
I had heard about Bash a long time ago and when the opportunity to work with him came up, I made sure I went after the throat and got the role because he inspires me and embodies what I’ll want to become later in the future and I always asked myself how does one get to this level in the tech space because it seems almost like a fairytale movie.
I asked one day for his portfolio and he shared it with me and I went to the first-ever project he put out and I got the biggest shock of my life, looking at the design he made, It struck me that this is something that I’ve always held myself from doing because of fear and also because I had this need to always appear perfect, I was always scared to appear like a beginner.
The design was crude, perhaps the crudest of all forms of UI designs I’ve seen in my life but it showed the lack of fear to step into an industry as a newbie and it has been my Achilles heel in all my growth as a designer because I’ve always gotten early into alot of spaces like no-code tools, 3d tools, etc. but for some reason, I’ve always been hesitant to make the first try but seeing this post made me rethink my approach to my process.
This brings me to the point of this post, to encourage you the reader to start in the most embarrassing way possible, if you wanted to start learning motion design, start with the “airplane cockpit” interface of Aftereffects, draw that funny looking doughnut on Blender, your illustration looks like a doodle from a monkey with a pencil? that's a wonderful start, Your first line of code has more bugs than the Amazon jungle? Good Job. Your first try at photoshop looks like a picture from 2003? Yes, You should be proud.
Take that first step Today, Bash started in 2018 fast forward to today, he is leading a team of the most amazing set of people I have worked with and this can also be your story with the right mindset and determination.
Take that step today.
